COVID-19 health restrictions and economic uncertainty impacted millions of businesses. Compared to all businesses, minority-owned businesses show higher ratings and reviews on social media, & higher rates of community engagement. Yet minority-owned businesses endured the strongest impacts:

Women-owned businesses – 10% closed & reopened once; 29% reopened twice or more.

Black-owned businesses – 12% closed & reopened once; 28% reopened twice or more.

Latino/Latina-owned businesses – 13% closed and reopened once; 31% reopened twice or more.​
