We are excited to share that our Technology Solutions (TS) Team won first place in the Feb. 2022 AWS Migration and Modernization GameDay event! Team DL’s three-person team (Matt Sorando, Erick Lavelle, and Luke Hodas) competed against 12 other virtual teams to migrate a mock environment to a Virtual Private Cloud inside AWS. They used technical savvy to race against a live scoreboard, navigating challenges, solving issues, and implementing best practice approaches. Team DL took home the 1st Place trophy after jumping 5 places in line with 12,000 points at the very end of the competition! Migration and modernization is core to what we do in our TS practice. Congratulations to the team!

The AWS Migration and Modernization GameDay is an interactive, team-based exercise where you will put your team’s AWS skills to the test in a fun and risk-free environment. With experts on hand to help, your team will work together throughout the day to master best practices and consider all the crucial elements for a successful migration to the Cloud.
What is AWS GameDay?
GameDay is a collaborative learning exercise that tests skills in implementing AWS solutions to solve real-world problems in a gamified, risk-free environment. This is a completely hands-on opportunity for technical professionals to explore AWS services, architecture patterns, best practices, and group cooperation. Our approach is unconventional compared to other learning formats. Ambiguity and non-prescriptive guidance allow teams the flexibility to think creatively as they navigate a wide array of technical challenges. Every team will be given a free AWS account to work in. A live scoreboard tracks teams’ progress throughout, adding light competition and energy to our unique event. Top finishers will receive prizes.
