Definitive Logic was selected by the Air Force Manpower, Personnel and Services (AF/A1) to implement the AF/A1 vision for Talent Management Digital Transformation to create connected, collaborative, and integrated IT systems. To meet this vision, the AF/A1 Chief Information Officer had specific goals in mind:
- Enhance Talent Management processes,
- Enhance the user experience, and
- Break down the barrier between 110+ various systems, reducing the footprint with a model that integrates an airman’s journey from hire to retire and reintegration.
The Air Force tasked Definitive Logic to pilot and demonstrate Oracle HCM in support of the Air Force Talent Management transformation. Definitive Logic identified Talent Management business processes in relation to the capabilities of Oracle HCM Cloud software. They created a Project Plan and Roadmap to schedule and prioritize workstream capabilities that were configured to demonstrate reengineered business processes. Definitive Logic is working with the Product Owners and Stakeholders to configure solutions that meet the Air Force needs without customization for these capabilities shown below:
Each of these workstreams included personalized business processes, access, and workflow configuration, configuration and business process documentation, platform recommendation and an implementation plan to go live.
The result was a solution that was more timely, accessible, efficient, and accurate than previous solutions related to each task. The foundation of the prototype was the development and demonstration of personnel records and workforce structures to support the
Talent Acquisition, Talent Management and learning modules. After creating this critical foundation, Definitive Logic proved various talent management possibilities for the client using Oracle HCM. The resulting prototype and demonstrations directly influenced AF/A1 decisions for platform selection and IT system consolidation.
